Dan & Annie's
Summer Adventure 2006

July 1st, 2006:

Here it is, the first installment of our Adventure Newsletter. First some background. Ten years ago Annie and I did something similar. We sold the house, put all our stuff into storage, and on January 1st of 1996 moved into a motorhome, where we lived for the next 5 ˝ years. What we did during that time is a whole different story (Pro Bass Fishing,) but one thing we did do was travel extensively throughout the eastern U.S., visiting 33 states, and as a result this is what our “states visited” map looked like before setting out on this 2006 summer adventure.

We hope to get a lot more color on the left-hand side of the map before we’re finished.

This is a photo of our home for the next few months. It is a 24’ Winnebago Minnie, and we’re towing a 12’ trailer stuffed with construction tools, camping equipment, and anything else we couldn’t fit in the camper.

Also in the trailer we have our mountain bikes, one of which we bought from our friend Joe Poole the day before we left. Joe bought this bike in Germany, has ridden it in various European countries, and has pictures of it in exotic locales. We’ll see if we can continue the tradition, and perhaps someday “The Adventures of Joe’s Bike” will make a good story of its own.

That’s all for now,

Dan & Annie
