Dan & Annie's
Summer Adventure 2006
July 24th, 2006:
Today we climbed a little hill in the Sawtooth Mountain Range of central Idaho.
It was only 8 miles round trip, but from the moment you stepped out of the camper it was nothing but up.
2,750 feet up, to be exact. Here are the pictures:
At 7,000 feet, we leave our camper in a stand of Aspens:

Wildflowers like this were everywhere:

From 7,500 feet, a panoramic view:

From 8,000 feet, a zoomed view of some of the nearby mountains:

From 8,500 feet, a view of one of the lakes across the valley:

At 9,000 feet, Dan stops to take a rest. (Not the first one, either!):

At 9,500 feet, Annie takes a different kind of rest:

And at 9,900 feet, the top of Horton’s Peak, we have these views.
Looking north:

Looking east:

Looking south:

Looking good!

And just looking:

Back at camp, we are resting our feet once again, soaking in the cool waters of the Salmon River, and heading to bed early.

With no clue what we’re doing tomorrow, life is good.
Enjoy it while you can.
