Summer Adventure 2006

September 11^th, 2006:

We were in Durango, CO because Dan wanted to take this train ride.

It was built in the 1880’s to provide access to the mining town of Silverton,

and soon became famous for the rugged and beautiful countryside it traveled through.

Fifty miles away we arrive in Silverton, where the train rides down

the middle of the road and the streets are paved in… dirt.

Here we immediately get into trouble again with the law…

But manage to post bail and hop back on the train for the return trip.

All for now. Tomorrow: Gold mining!
