Chris has left for Africa, and we can’t wait for him to get back and tell us all about it. I (Annie) took him out for the day before he left, along with Kate, Jeff and Jeff’s girlfriend Kaitlyn. We went to the go-karts, to mini golf, we went swimming, we played tennis, we put on temporary tattoos and had a great day. We will really miss him. Cooper turned 6 this week and Annie turned 31!! Katelyn got in a fender bender with our famous Hilda (1982 Mercedes). The most important thing was that no one was hurt. Dan and Kate went out car shopping for Kate’s first car. My niece Kaitlyn and nephew Brandon spent 3 nights with us while their mom & dad were moving into their new house.

Dan took John Hobbie, our friend from TN who also fishes the FLW trail, out fishing for a day. They were visiting their daughter in NH. I was supposed to go out to lunch with Laraine, but had Kaitlyn, Brandon, Jeff, and one of Jeff’s friends for the day instead and it was pretty hectic. Jeff & Dan tried a new sport this week...wakeboarding. They did great and were up and riding on their first time out. Jeff & Kate went back to their house in Concord later in the week, and it seems strange now without any kids here.

Katelyn got her first car, a 1989 Volkswagon Golf . She is so excited. She came back up to the lake house with her friend Meredith for the day, and we laid out in the sun. Jeff also came up with a couple of his friends for a few days. It was Dan’s and my 3 year wedding anniversary this week, and we had a nice little dinner together. Dan has been working on the barn some more, building shelves so that we can maybe get rid of our storage garage eventually.

Aunt Patti (sister of Dan’s mom) is up for a few weeks now staying at the lake house and we had a party with her kids and their families. It was a lot of fun to spend time with them, and Dan got to take his cousins Paul and Dan out fishing in the CITGO boat. We do not get to see them very often and just had a wonderful time. Kate and Jeff were here for the party and got to spend time with their cousins, too.

Chris, cousin Kyle, and Dan’s mom came back from their trip to Africa this week. The trip was amazing, they had so many stories to tell and they took hundreds of pictures. Chris started football the day after he got home, and between that and organizing all his photographs, he is keeping pretty busy.

Dan and I went to a motorhome rally for a few days in Maine, and it was really interesting. We got to attend lots of seminars about all different things, including our engine, our chassis, microwave cooking, and fashion on the road. There were also concerts, and their were tons of food stands. We spent the three days eating and eating. Next week I am having oral surgery, and eating will be very difficult. I think we were eating 6 meals a day now to make up for it. When we got back from the rally Dan was really itching to go fishing, so he managed to get a couple of hours of fishing in. He is ready for the new season to start.

What a week. I had oral surgery performed and it was not the most pleasant thing in the world. I ended up with 18 stitches in my mouth. OUCH!! Not to mention that I CAN NOT EAT!! Anyone who knows me knows I love to talk, and eat, and it is not going so well this week.

Dan was wonderful. One day he was up at 6:00am cooking carrots, yams, and squash and blending it all down so I could eat it. He got me videos to watch and gave me a bell to ring in case I needed anything. I am so lucky. The bottom line is that it will be about 3 months before I am back to normal, and all I want to do is eat a roast beef sub!!

It really feels like the end of summer now. The kids started school this week, Mom & Aunt Patti left to go back to Florida and we started packing up the lake house and getting ready to be on the road again. We have the lake house all to ourselves now, and it feels really strange because all summer long there are people in and out, but it’s very quiet now.
